Operation limits in the Qiwi system

2016-05-15

The history of the popular Qiwi payment system began in 2006. True, its name was different - "Mobile payments". After only three years of existence, the company changed its name to Qiwi and gained a foothold in the financial market in the payment systems sector.

In 2012, the owners signed a cooperation agreement with Visa , after which customers had the opportunity to receive a branded Visa card, which can be used to pay in other countries. But for this, it is necessary to take into account Qiwi limits on transfers, since there are a number of system limitations, and you need to know them.

Today, Qiwi is a large financial services company for the public. The main features of the Qiwi system:

  • Replenishment of the virtual wallet and withdrawal of funds. There are Qiwi payment limits, you need to take this into account.
  • Transfers to a bank card.
  • Payment for goods from online stores that support this payment system.
  • Payment for numerous services: Internet, utilities, mobile communications, satellite TV and much more.

The company is represented in all cities of the Russian Federation. Terminals for financial transactions are located in almost every store. And if you have a Visa Qiwi Card, then money can be withdrawn at any ATM in the world.

Back in 2013, the company entered the international stock exchange and was valued at $884 million. Now this figure is much higher. There are already more than 50 million customers who have joined the Qiwi community, and the annual turnover exceeds $30 billion.

The payment system, despite the existing Qiwi limits, is considered one of the most popular and frequently used not only in the Russian Federation, but also in other CIS countries. It is often compared with the most famous - Webmoney. In fact, these are competitors, but many use both systems to simplify the withdrawal from a Qiwi wallet and Webmoney.

Transaction fees

As in any other payment system, Qiwi also charges a commission for transfers. In each case, the commission percentage is different. This is the main source of income for the system, so it is unlikely that transfers will ever become free. Next, consider the list of commissions in the system:

  1. Qiwi terminals. This is the only way to not pay commission. If transactions are carried out through the company's terminals, then the service fee is 0%. And in this way you can pay for most services.
  2. When transferring money to other payment systems, the commission will be quite large up to 5% of the total transaction amount. True, there are two exceptions. First, if you have an account with a formal passport in the Webmoney system, then you can link a Qiwi wallet to it, and then the commission will be only 3%. Moreover, Qiwi limits on transfers will partially not apply. Secondly, the Mail.ru company bought back a part of the shares of the Qiwi system (21.4%), therefore transfers between them are free of charge.
  3. Also, the payment for money transfer is not charged if the user wants to replenish the digital wallet using his bank card or Internet banking service. But for a transfer in the opposite direction, that is, for withdrawing funds to a card, you will need to pay 1.5–2%, depending on the chosen bank.
  4. If the client decides to use the services of money transfer companies (Anelik, Contact), then the commission will be 2.5%. In some cases, you have to use similar methods to make Qiwi payments cheaper.
  5. The system supports direct withdrawal of money to Visa cards issued in the following countries: Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Moldova. In this case, a commission of 2% plus 50 rubles is charged.

As you can see, the Qiwi payment system offers its customers acceptable terms of cooperation. Interest rates for the provision of services are low. The only thing that can upset is Qiwi limits, but more on them later.

Identification and limits of the QIWI payment system

Like other payment systems, Qiwi has its own limitations, and they are called Qiwi wallet limits. The system of restrictions was introduced in 2013 under the pretext of securing cash flows. The fact is that at first each client was without identification. There was no need to prove your identity with any documents. The restrictions were the same for everyone: no more than 15 thousand rubles per withdrawal and no more than 40 thousand rubles per month.

But banks were extremely negative about such payments, since neither the name nor the sender's passport details were provided. Banks often blocked such transactions. In addition, the security of the circulation of funds in the country was strengthened, so all payment systems had to verify personal data. In the Webmoney system, this is called obtaining a passport, and in Qiwi, identification.

If the client plans to conduct large transactions, he needs to go through identification in order to remove Qiwi limits on transfers. So, let's consider the stages of identification and the benefits that the user will receive as a result:

  1. The first level of identification is assigned to all registered users. The corresponding name is “Minimum”. No passport or TIN code is needed, only a valid phone number. Even the name can be entered by someone else, it does not matter. The only important thing is that this level of access severely restricts the user by setting payment limits in the Qiwi system. But as banks would not struggle with the lack of identification, this level of access is used by the majority of payment system customers. At this level, the user is provided with a digital wallet with a limit of 15,000 rubles, and the maximum withdrawal amount is no more than 40,000 rubles per month. This is more than enough for small financial transactions: buying goods in online stores, replenishing the account of mobile operators, paying for the Internet and other services.
  2. Identification up to the "Basic" level. To gain access to new features, you will need to pass identity verification. This can be done in several ways. Send scans of your passport and TIN code to the Qiwi payment system identification center . The second option is to pass a check in a Qiwi terminal or provide information about yourself using the Visa Qiwi Wallet mobile application. Another way is to call the call center and confirm your identity during communication with a company employee.

The second level of identification gives customers more advantages: the limit on a Qiwi wallet is higher - 60 thousand rubles, and the maximum amount for withdrawal, including through the company's terminals, is 200 thousand rubles. This level of access is usually used by people working on the Internet. These can be copywriters, programmers, web designers and CPA marketing workers. These Qiwi wallet limits are quite suitable for network workers, but if we are talking about an online business, for example, an online store, then full identification is needed.

  1. Identification "Professional" is full access to the system. There are practically no restrictions. The maximum amount on the wallet is 600 thousand rubles, and for transfers and payments - up to 4,000,000 rubles per month. Full identification is possible only in specialized places. If the user lives in Moscow, it is enough to bring the documents to one of the offices of Qiwi payment system partners. Residents of other regions can go through full identification at the points of the CONTACT system, the centers of the LetoBank bank and the Euroset stores, but there is a service fee of 50 rubles. Documents that will be needed: of course, a passport and TIN code, address of residence (registration), phone number that was indicated during initial registration. The package of documents is transferred to the employee, he fills in the identification form, and after a while, an SMS with a confirmation code will be sent to the mobile number.

Is it worth doing a full identification? Worth it if you really need it. An ordinary person who spends no more than 10 thousand rubles a month on goods from an online store and pay for services hardly needs full access. But on the other hand, banks like it when transfers come from a person whose identity is documented. They have a different attitude, and if there are any problems with the transfer, then the bank's technical support will be the first to serve the identified client, and not the one with the "minimum" status.
