Why many are reluctant to switch to electronic payment systems

Electronic payment systems have long been a part of society, and for many they have replaced the usual paper money. The main difficulty is conservatism, which is deeply rooted in every person and does not allow him to rebuild to a new rhythm of life. Because of this, the transition to electronic money rarely goes smoothly. The rustling of currency in the wallet gives confidence in the future, additional peace of mind. But what are the real problems with the transition to electronic payment systems? What are people afraid of? Lets consider the disadvantages of the systems in more detail.

The peculiarity of the EPS is that for any transactions there must be a stable connection with the companys server. If there is no connection and the connection is broken, access to funds is lost. Of course, many systems are capable of working offline, but these are few. There are also fears that if the connection is broken when a particular transaction is made, funds may be lost.

Any transaction that is carried out in the system is recorded on the server. In addition, for large transactions, the user must pass identification, that is, provide personal data, including a passport number, identification code and a number of other documents. If necessary, the tax authorities receive information about a particular user. If the earnings are legal, then the person has nothing to worry about, and if not, then it is worth deciding for himself whether such a risk is necessary or not.

The transition to EPS opens up many opportunities - it simplifies payments for online purchases and for utilities, accelerates payments for purchases in an online store, opens up the opportunity to order food at home, and so on. On the other hand, the full range of capabilities of electronic systems has not been realized. Participants in electronic settlements may not accept money. In practice, this minus is gradually losing its relevance, because the possibilities of EPS are expanding. Today it is difficult to find an online store that would not accept a new type of coins for payment. All this makes the transition to electronic money more comfortable.

If we compare EPS with the same banking system, then it is not protected, and money is not provided by the state. There is always a danger that the current operations go beyond the laws in force in the country. This is why the transition to electronic payment systems is so painful for many. On the other hand, risks are minimized by using the currency only for settlements, and not for storing large amounts.

Despite the fact that the use of electronic currencies does not cause problems, you cannot do without installing additional tools. Users are frightened that they will have to understand the numerous and incomprehensible programs, their installation and configuration. Most of all "conservatives" are afraid - people aged 40 and over, for whom cash is a more reliable method of payment.

Despite the desire of the creators to provide a high level of security, users again and again fall for the tricks of scammers. In this case, most often it is not the EPS themselves, but the people who are not able to protect the computer from outside interference. The fear of losing money due to a virus or a worm is so high that the process of switching to new types of currencies is delayed for a long time. In fact, a reliable anti-virus system and careful attention to personal data are enough to avoid problems.

Do not forget that many electronic systems are on their way to becoming. Experienced hackers are able to develop dozens of hacking methods, each of which can lead to the loss of user funds. That is why preference should be given to those systems that have been on the market for a long time and have proven their effectiveness.

Potential clients are discouraged by the presence of limits on appeal. When switching to electronic money, you should be prepared to limit the maximum amount on the account or limits for withdrawing money. In this case, the upper "ceiling" depends on the presence of user identification. If the user has provided and confirmed personal data, then his threshold is increased. This feature of the EPS creates a lot of inconvenience for users and forces them to leave the "shadow".

Indeed, the transition to electronic payment systems has been delayed. But there is movement in this direction. 5-10 years will pass, and there will not be a single person who does not have electronic wallets. For their part, payment systems should also try to increase the level of security and make the use of electronic money even easier.
